Located at one of the premium spots within the Denia Marina entertainment complex, Basta has an amazing view across Denia Marina towards the Port of Denia, with Denia Marina being lined by multimillion-pound yachts, there is always an air of luxury when visiting Basta.
Inside BASTA!
The interior/exterior of Basta could be best described as nautical/industrial. Outside chunky modern wooden furniture gives a feeling of being on a ship’s deck, whilst the potted large leaf plants scattered around the bistro add a touch of colour.
Enjoying Food & Drinks At BASTA!
Whether it’s breakfast, lunch or dinner you’re having, Basta always delivers.
Good-sized portions, well presented but not over fussy, tasty food to suit all palates. From omelettes at breakfast, salads at lunch and steak for dinner, the food is moderately priced – given the quality and location.
The drinks are standard like most bars in the Denia area, with an offering of hot drinks, cold drinks, wines, beers, spirits and cocktails. The cocktails are a mix of classics, alongside some Basta specialities.
Live Music & Friendly Staff
Our latest visit to Basta was on a Wednesday evening to enjoy the live music from Lady K and The JJs.
Lady K is an Anglo/Spanish singer, who, along with her band -the JJ’s – cover classics from the likes of Frank Sinatra and Etta James. We booked a table in advance as it’s always packed when there’s live music and it was just as well as it was packed to the rafters.
We were welcomed by a friendly waiter and then spotted our friends had already arrived and were seated, so he walked us over to them and took our order. Our partners were driving so they ordered a couple of 0% beers and my friend and I ordered a bottle of house white wine and some still water.
A waitress arrived within 10 minutes with the drinks – which was great, given how busy it was.
She was really friendly and brought a separate glass of ice with the water without being asked which was a nice touch. She also brought some complimentary olives + snacks to go with the drinks, which in a way is a plus point for Basta, as they sell food, so you wouldn’t normally expect to get free nibbles.
Throughout the evening, the staff were always really attentive, taking orders and arriving with our drinks promptly. We didn’t eat on this occasion, but friends arrived at a nearby table and commented on the excellent steaks they had.
Lady K and the JJ’s continued to entertain the audience with the classic covers and after dancing to a few favourites – “let’s twist again” completed our night and it was time to leave for our dinner reservation at the Lighthouse restaurant (see our separate review) in the marina.
But not until we had our complimentary shot of baileys with the bill.
Well done Basta! – great as always!
